Why I Left the Agency World to Start My Own Business

When I quit my job last year, I told my boss, “I’m not running away from the agency; I’m running toward a more balanced life.” After ten years of agency life filled with urgent deadlines, weekly travel, and countless 12-15 hour days, I was burned out.

Taking time to reflect allowed me to see the bigger picture, and I made the decision to start my own business. It wasn’t just about work-life balance, though that was a significant factor. A recent Spin Sucks article, “Women-Owned Agencies and Solopreneurs Are the Future,” dives into why so many women are taking the leap to start their own businesses. I’m honored to be featured in this important piece. Thank you to Meg Crumbine for shedding light on these issues that often go unspoken.
